2013...
How can that be?
Like almost everyone else, I am perplexed at how quickly the time is passing.
Christmas was wonderful. Carly, Mike, Casey and Tony were all home. We got to attend church together, have our traditional Christmas Eve hors d' oeuvres dinner, open gifts from each other, and spend Christmas day...with Santa Claus, more presents, more food and precious more time together. Carly and Mike were able to stay until the day after Christmas (what a blessing that was!) and Casey and Tony stayed until the 30th. It was very hard for me to let them go...
You out there, with young children, do you think that once your kids get older it's easy to "let them go"? It's not. It really is not. But I draw comfort knowing that they are each on their own special journey, looking to build the life that God has for them...for their spouse, for their family, for their life-long work. It is a comfort to know that God gave me those children, and now I continue to "raise" them from a back seat...always guiding, always encouraging, always praying for each of them. I knew from the very beginningthat I had them for only a little while...and then I would give them up for them to build their own beautiful lives. And that they are.
I love this quirky family!
2013 will be a special year. My first grandchild is due to arrive around the 2nd week in April. To "parent role" I add "grandparent", with so much excitement I can hardly stand it! I look forward to loving another little one into my family!
I've changed the title of my blog to "Do what you love. Every day. That is my thought/desire/destination for 2013. To do something that I love every single day of year! THAT is what makes life, a good life.
So, come back often. Much of what "I love" will be in photos. Because, after all, photography is something I love a lot!
Bless you for reading this. Bless you in 2013.
LOVE is THE word!
